- There did come unto the land of Internet a realm called Usenet, whose
- population was of opinions many, and by and large, clues few. There did
- rise to the throne of the Kingdom of Alt, in the realm of Usenet, a man,
- whose name was called Furr I.
-
- King Furr did look upon his realm and did see that it had been set upon
- by the vile Online of America and its cohorts Newbie and Clueless. As he
- pondered the state of affairs, there did rise from the vile lot a dark
- knight called Sir Servo.
-
- Sir Servo's ambition was to put a weapon into the hands of every member
- of the population, which was many and diversified. The evil, though, was
- that the weapons were bent, and he was giving them to children, and,
- worst of all, to the Online of America and its cohorts.
-
- King Furr saw the evil deeds that were being committed by Sir Servo and
- his companions, and did call forth all the bravest knights in the Kingdom
- of Alt. He spoke unto them the threat to the order of the kingdom, and
- did commission a Cabal to be built, round in shape. Thus were formed the
- Knights of the Round Cabal.
-
- To battle the enemy, King Furr did bestow upon his Knights of the Round
- Cabal the power of rmgroup, with which they could advise the local
- governors of each site in the kingdom.
-
- The battle commenced, and foul spam, censorship, and crossposting did
- abound, but the governors did occasionally take heed to the words of
- the knights, for they knew them to be good men and true.
-
- Thus the battle rages on, and thou mayest see it to this very day, and
- may even order tankards and garb upon which to reflect the glories of the
- War of Alt.
-
- Pay heed, however, to the prophet in the wilderness, called by some
- Father Kibo, for his words may yet prevail, and none know truly on which
- side he stands, or if he even careth.
